Marianne has stood for the French Republic for over two centuries, an emblem of unity and liberty, reproduced identically for decades, most visibly on postage stamps. Toutes Marianne(s) reverses that logic entirely: what if Marianne wasn't one face, but a constellation of women's experiences?

92 portraits (media figures, athletes, artists, activists and women with singular, anonymous stories) each wear the Phrygian cap, the symbol of liberty. Anne Roumanoff, Suzane, Claudia Tagbo, Sylvie Tellier, Frédérique Bel, Reem Kherici and Paralympic champion Nantenin Keita sit alongside women whose names the public doesn't already know, a living mosaic of French society, each portrait a different reading of the same republican values.

Annelise Stern (Founder NANA) co-curated Toutes Marianne(s) alongside photographer Sylvie Castioni, whose long-term inquiry into how women are represented in public space, deepened by a personal experience that sharpened her commitment to women's rights, gave the project its starting point.

Rather than propose one new official effigy, the exhibition multiplies the gaze instead: Marianne becomes plural, collective, and carries a message of equality and justice across every level of the museum.
