BIOGRAPHY
Arielle Sibony builds a practice around memory, ritual and material, a work that lets more than one story occupy the same object. Her practice is organized across three ongoing series, moving between intimate paper works and large-scale commissions.
Her work has traveled internationally, from a 5-star hotel commission at the Ida B Domain Resort in Thailand to an exhibition presented during the Cannes Film Festival, and is held by private collectors across France and abroad.
NANA represents Arielle across representation, luxury hospitality collaborations, and institutional partnerships.
UNWRITING
Arielle Sibony begins with writing, then lets the line escape its meaning. Across drawing and painting, her signs retain the rhythm of a script without belonging to a readable alphabet. She calls this practice “unwriting”: a visual language that leaves every viewer free to find their own forms and associations.
The gesture moves from the intimate page to the canvas and the wall. Black lines establish a structure; colour enters as an interruption, opening another way to look.
Her practice unfolds across three ongoing series. Noirs sur blanc explores the line in its simplest form: black marks on white, from the pages of a notebook to the scale of a wall.
In Entre-deux, colour interrupts the script. Meticulous signs and shifting forms create compositions poised between writing and drawing. The large-format works extend this language into architecture, through commissions conceived for a particular place.
